Raised around the Great Lakes region of Ontario I have always been interested in painting.

Primarily self taught with additional tutoring from top international instructors, I have developed

a passion for the pastel medium. Workshops and local art group involvement make my education 

ongoing.More recently I have been developing my skills in acrylics & oils.

I favour the rural settings of the Great Lakes & points further north often painting "en plein air"

as well as from my studio in Puslinch. I am inspired by dramatic skies,shorelines,riverbanks,fields

and old historic barns & try to push for vivid colour responses to subtle light fluctuations that

slide across the landscape & try to create my personal impressionistic viewpoint. The Pastel 

medium is perfect for outdoor use and the wide range of colours are irresistible for creating vivid

light filled paintings. 

Many years spent sailing the waters of Georgian Bay and camping the parks in Canada and the

USA are reflected in a number of my paintings as I search for quiet & serene surroundings, for I

feel that is what most of us seek as we attempt to stay afloat of our busy lives.
